We all like to think that evil is far, that nothing can harm us, that we are safe in our community and only crazy things happen in Florida. Truth be told, we are not. Crazy things happen everywhere, including in our neighboring town Robstown, Texas.

On Feb. 3, 2018 the charred bodies of 51-year-old Jesus Gomez and 35-year-old Isabel Cuellar were found at a palm tree farm in Robstown, Texas.

For Bryan Gomez, the morning of Feb.3 was exciting, he didn’t have to work and was planning to visit his father Jesus Gomez. However, when he visited his father’s trailer at I-37 he unknowingly stepped into a murder scene. He quickly realized his father was missing.

Only 16 miles away from the Gomez residence, police were already investigating the discovery of two bodies in a palm tree farm. Three days after reporting the disappearance of Jesus Gomez, authorities were able to identify that one of the bodies belonged to Gomez, ruling his death a homicide. The search for a gruesome criminal began.

Robstown investigators later found out that the second body belong to Isabel Cuellar. According to Action 10 News, the investigator concluded that both Gomez and Cuellar were murdered in the Gomez residence and then transported to the farm.

For their families, the puzzle pieces of possible suspect is incomplete. Each family described their loved ones as protectors, and always willing to help others With not even a suspect or lead the case of Gomez and Cuellar is still on-going.

The Gomez and Cuellar family are still fighting for justice for their loved ones. Cuellar’s sisters emphasized how caring Isabel was in a interview with KIII Bill Churchwell, and Bryan Gomez promised to keep searching for his father’s murderer.

Anyone with tips is urged to call police 361-886-2600.

Evil is always lurking, we need to learn to look out for one another and keep each other safe.
